Dr. Chen graduated from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island.  She attended Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, where she caught her first baby and decided to become an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (it was a very cute baby).  She then trained in Gynecology and Obstetrics and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

She is honored that she has been voted by her peers to be a Top Doctor in the NJ Monthly survey, Castle Connelly, US News and World Report, Inside Jersey Magazine, and NY Magazine for many years, and has been recognized by Inside Jersey Magazine as a Top Doctor in Cancer Care for her work freezing eggs for cancer patients and raising physician and public awareness of OncoFertility and Fertility Preservation.

Dr Chen uses the power of assisted reproductive technology, IVF and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) every day to help her patients have families and preserve fertility.  She believes that IVF and PGT can be powerful tools to promote health, wellness and disease prevention. She also realizes that this technology has the potential to create bias and division and that there are both positive and negative implications to our growing ability to make designer babies a reality via genetic selection and genetic modification.  She believes that all physicians in all areas of medicine have a responsibility and obligation as healthcare providers and as world citizens to lead a transparent and active dialogue on the responsible use of this very powerful science.
